Mill City Trio: News

CD Release - August 4, 2010

We're busy putting the finishing touches on our new 11-track CD, "Looking Up." Recorded at Zippah Studios in Brookline, the new disc is our most eclectic and, if we do say so ourselves, strongest album to date. At this same session, we recorded "The Syncopated Bird," an extended composition for jazz trio and narrator by Drew and Jamie Dunphy. We're so pleased with how it turned out that we'll be releasing it as a seperate disc.

We had the pleasure of working with engineer extraordinaire Brian Charles, who captured a beautiful sound and really created a great environment in which to play. Two weeks ago we visted Toby Mountain at Northeastern Digital in Southboro; Toby did a wonderful job mastering both recordings.

Both "Looking Up" and "The Syncopated Bird" will be available for the first time at our two CD release events:

FRIDAY, AUGUST 27th at the Gershwin Hotel, New York City, with special guest Drew Dunphy, narrator. The show starts at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10, available at the door.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th at the Java Room, Chelmsford. Show starts at 8:00; admission is free.

We look forward to sharing the new music with you.
